Unusual colourful visitor this morning.
India has had a history of religious men asking for alms by singing devotional songs from one house to another. Today we had a warkari from maharashtra singing in front of my house. I would say it is very unusual to find them in goa. Managed to capture him while if was there singing.
Traditional Fisherman

A rare sight in this part of the world. A traditional fisherman walking back home with bits of his catch.

Fishing in Goa..
Traditional Fishing. Goa has many small villages dotting the river banks. For people from these villages, getting Fish for their Fish Curry Rice is not much of a shopping experience. Most of the men, young and old know how to fish for their bit in the nearby stream or the river. It is surprising to see the creativity that these people have when it comes to walking through the river and walking back with enough catch for a meal for 4 members. With modernisation threatening the tradition, there would be handful who can actually do this. If you are in Goa dont miss out venturing into the smaller villages by the river and experiencing fishing. Its fun.
That apart you can rest be assured your palates would be tantalised by wide variety of Sea life which usually come from Mechanised fishing. King Prawns and Lobsters anybody??

Storm Rising up on the horizon
Blogging on the move is real fun. I get to share life when i travel without getting bored about doing nothing. This is rocking as of now. Dont worry i will not miss out on the daily photo when i m back in Goa.
Right now the train in which i m travelling is cruising thru the storm . Its beautiful outside .....
Getting back to Goa......
Its a mixed reaction from me when it comes to getting out of bangalore. Bitter about leaving the sweet old second home, leaving behind good pals, party places, good food but happy about getting back home, work and some more good frens.
Bangalore Banged by metro
For all those who have seen Bangalore city about 10 years back this would be a gruesome sight of the city being murdered. Well we need development but not at the cost of haphazard planning. I surely miss those old days in Bangalore when the city would invite you with open arms and one could have a vacation...

Beautiful skies after a long time
Driving to panjim captured this piece of amazing shot on zuari bridge. With the monsoons fading away a lot of action in pictures can be expected.

Rainworthy Shot
An isolated carrier disbursing H20 in the arabian sea and gradually moving on us. Shot from the half completed approach road to the yet to exist Mashem Bridge. This will be regular sight for travellers on NH17 if the bridge comes up. An amazing place too be if you got nothing to do...now you know why was I found there..

Selling Fish @ Mashem in Goa
Fish is totally indispensible in Goa. We stopped by at the Mashem market to find some fish. It is quite amazing to listen to conversations happening and bargains falling apart when the village men both young and old try candy konkani on these fisherwomen.

Tiger Spotting at Kaziranga National Park...
An amazing video shot in Kaziranga National Park in India. This video is doing rounds on internet - shot by an unknown person. Do watch it. It is one of the scariest videos around...Imagine what would happen of you if you were sitting up on that elephant with your digital camera.

Monsoons - Not coping with Pace...

It should have been raining cats and dogs in Goa. I guess I was lucky as a school going kid to enjoy the really fierce but not so destructive monsoons. Believe me I enjoyed every bit of rains clad in my favourite yellow color duckback raincoat. Global warming wasnt heard of then. Wheres the rain gone now? Guess in Goa we ll have to wait as much as a week this year. With changing monsoon patterns we ll have almost everything changing around. I just couldnt believe my eyes when I watched television today - It read 38 Degree Celcius in Dehradun. Whoaaa hoaaa.... a 'hill station' patroned by the Britishers for summer holidays no longer stands designated. Where are we gonna run with the changing weather patterns??

Kolkatta @ tea time...
No its isnt early British days. It is year 2008 and shot in Black and white..hides all the blemishes. Fair and Lovely...isnt it?
What British left for the Commmunists..
I believe a DNA test inside the Tram would reveal a lot about the Brits in India. Certainly nothing has changed about them in the last so many decades - Just one thing if at all is changed is the use for Commercial advertising on its exteriors. Have you been inside a tram in Kolkatta? I suggest you dont. It might possibly lead to Genetic overlapping of the 'left' over shredded DNA. The ACC on the Tram means Associated Communists Chors...
Nirmal Hriday
2 things about this picture. Nirmal Hriday and the Kolkatta cop. Now what about them? Nirmal Hriday is where it all started for Mother Theresa. This place in Kolkatta (a.k.a Calcutta) is the home for the 'unknown' started by Mother Theresa. And what about the COP? Zoom in and read the abbrevation on his suspect helmet. Its almost read as RIP.
The Great Indian Auto
Yes this is the great Indian Auto that has fancied even the Brits long after they have left India and gone to be ruled by the Indians in their own land. The only thing that comes to my mind why the firangs fancy this vehicle is that they are not found elsewhere. If you ask me it is the most difficult and the most uncomfortable of the mobiles you ll find on this planet earth. Off course that was the reason a bunch of guys, sorry attention seeking guys got on a bunch of autos and painted them all fancy and decided to climb Himalayas. It must have been some hardwork. If you are reading this from a far away land...the next time you are in India and you want some bum rolling ride..dont miss out on the great Indian Auto.. And if you are a Australian or a Brit..remember this auto has an unworldly inclination to discriminate good from bad.. yellow from black and what not. caution to the auto.

Arabian sea ...
Best viewed from this place. Probably the highest point in Goa which is right next to sea shore. A must try place during monsoons.... Get to see full glory of the ocean.
