Its fun time in Goa

The tourist season has started in Goa. Beach shacks are up and the beach beds. Beaches will be more colourful then ever. Viva Goa.

Divwali time in Goa

Goa celebrates diwali in a unique way that is not found elsewhere in India. Effigies of the demon Narkasur who was slayed by lord krishna are made and burnt on the previous night signifying the victory of good over evil. Here is a picture of the narkasur who was participating at a local town competetion. Will post more of diwali pics...

A beautiful sunset to call it a day.

The big trawler by the sun and sea.

Spot the trawler contest ;)

Traditional Fishing in Goa.

Called the ramponkars, traditionally fished in the coastal areas of Goa using the wooden canoe or bigger boat as seen in the pic. Well the one you see is among the last few. There are not many who make it and hardly any who confirm to its slow and mild manners. Now are the days of big boats, tech gadgets and loads of fish. And money.

Rescue when needed...

Sunny beach after a long time...

Guess its the first sunday with clear skies after the monsoon. Indeed it was crowded by late evening. We were there by 4pm and got to capture some clear sun and sand. the day ended with a beautiful sunset.

Where else but Goa.

See those skies clearing up. Soon the season of tourist arrivals would kick off...

Random rain made blur

Rains are fading in Goa. Seasons change so fast. Life is running out real fast. Good that "to do list" is not much of a problem...but that seven day weekend is illusive.

Lush Green after rains

Goa has taken on another form of green cover which gets wild. Creepers entangle everything in its way. Paddy fields bear the paddy corn and await harvest on maturity. Clouds loose their mass and they become petty sprinklers. Life moves on and its fun to watch natures own cycles every year.

Offroading in Goa

Offroading has picked up pace and passion like crazy. My group of friends also enjoy doing our bit of off tarmac activity or nonsense as some like to call it. Today being a sunday we took to hills and some muck too. My Jeep got stuck, 2WD it is. :(
